MISSION STATEMENT
It is the mission of Team Toni to strengthen communities & families by offering help where it is needed. We will show God’s love to the hurting & the saved. We will let his light shine in all that we do. [For with God nothing is impossible. Luke 1:37]
TEAM TONI INC.
Team Toni Inc. is a non-profit organization intending to continue the legacy of hope and love of Chesapeake, Ohio’s Toni Nichole Black. All staff members are volunteers! Toni Black was well aware of this organization and had hoped to be a part of it herself. It is the PROMISE of the community of TEAM TONI to carry on her legacy and wishes for others to be helped and loved as she and her family have been throughout her fight against this disease.
Team Toni Inc. will reach out to those in need battling cancer in hopes to continue the same love that Toni Black was shown during her year long battle with lung and brain cancer. Volunteers will give their time and services to share their love, abilities, & hope to a community that is hurting and in need. New friends (aka Tonis) will be signed up on our website to be served.
Services offered are recommended and added as we see a need. Services offered thus far are as follows: lawn care, meals, letters of love, text messaging encouragement, cancer treatment research & benefits available(web warriors), financial assistance, visitors, transportation, and treat baskets in doctor offices & hospital cancer waiting rooms across the tri- state. None of these services are available without the help of volunteers!
Fundraisers and events are being held throughout our Tri-State area to help those in need. Funds will be raised to assist with the needs of friends with cancer such as but not limited to: prescriptions, treatment, travel expenses, utilities, clothing and nourishment. We will participate in community service, events, and fundraisers for cancer awareness as well as host our own events.
Toni Black was burdened by not knowing how to repay our community for the support of Team Toni (previously her fan club). Her battle was supported until the very end. This organization was discussed with her many times throughout her cancer journey. It was a fear that she would not be able to show her gratitude to the Tri- State and across the nation for the support she received. In the words of Toni, “what if I cant thank everyone?, what if I leave someone out?” Her family and friends have now joined to form this organization to make sure that her wishes are fulfilled. Toni did not ever feel she was more special than anyone else with cancer, and she was loving and caring beyond our understanding. She was thankful for the love, support-financially and emotionally, and her unwavering desire to never let go. She challenged us all to be better people and recognize that each second of life is to be valued.
